Powering Our Kitchens Differently

Our kitchens now draw a significant portion of their power from rooftop solar arrays installed across three properties, with two more scheduled to come online next year as installation continues across the rest of the group. The rooftop gardens that sit above those same kitchens supply herbs and vegetables directly to our restaurants, cutting transport emissions while giving chefs same-day access to genuinely fresh ingredients grown steps away.

This philosophy shows up in small details throughout a stay, from the refillable amenity bottles in every bathroom to the locally sourced coffee served each morning, none of which asks guests to sacrifice the sense of comfort they expect from a Stayvo property.

How We Handle Water And Waste

Water use has been another major focus, with greywater recycling systems now feeding our irrigation across every garden and courtyard space on the property. Linen and towel programs are opt-in rather than automatic, a small change that has meaningfully reduced our water and detergent use property-wide since the policy was introduced two years ago.

Training Our Team On These Values

Staff training plays a quiet role too, with every new hire completing an orientation on our sourcing standards, so the values behind the garden are something the whole team can explain to any curious guest who happens to ask about it during their stay.

We publish our full sustainability report annually on our About Stayvo page, covering everything from our waste diversion rates to supplier sourcing standards across every property in the group. It is far from a finished project, and we are open about where we still have work to do, but we believe transparency is the only honest way to build sustainable luxury guests can actually trust over time.

Supporting Local Suppliers

Roughly seventy percent of our produce now comes from farms within a two hour drive of the property, a figure the sourcing team tracks closely. Direct relationships with smaller growers also mean less packaging moving through our kitchens compared to larger distributors.

Looking Ahead To Next Year

Plans are already underway to expand our composting program property-wide, diverting even more kitchen waste away from landfill sites and back into the gardens that supply our restaurants each season throughout the year. A detail we are proud to keep improving each year.
